About

Hi, greetings from Brazil, this is Otavio Ferreira. I’ve been researching and writing about the Semantic Web since 2007, and I’m still a bit worried about its potential. It’s weird to contribute to something as scary as giving machines power to make decisions throughout the Web. But because it seems to be doable, I feel like giving it a try. Hopefully our findings will be used for the best.

Full Semantic Web (or just FSW for short) was born because I needed a space in which I could share the stuff produced during my masters. Likewise my fellow researchers, I support the idea of making publicly available all the knowledge about Semantic Web. The more open the standard is, the safer it gets. Not to mention reliability, stability, adoption, and so on.

My dissertation aims at defining a new Web ontology to semantically describe RESTful Web Services. The program is held by the University of São Paulo (USP), within the Engineering School (Poli). Professionally, I’ve been working for MIH SWAT (labs, blog), a global team focused on cutting-edge research and Web development.

If you also feel like sharing your stuff about Web semantics, you’re are more than welcome to post it to FSW. Just give me a shout.

I’m glad you stopped by. Cheers!
